uZunca bir suredir cam boncuk kullanarak goZ yapmayi denemek istiyordum. haftalar once deneyebildim. ilk denemede kullandigim boncuklar akrilik gibi bir seymis sanirim, firinda catladilar. ama ikinci denemede basariya ulastim. bu hanimefendinin bu kadar gecikmesi de bir turlu kostumunu yapamamis olmamdan kaynaklandi. bir de araya baska isler de girince, bahanem de haZir oldu boylece..
velhasil sonunda bitti..

i've been wanting to use glass beads for eyes for a long time. finally a few weeks ago i had a chance to give that a try. my first attempt was a failure, the beads i used were not glass. i guess they were made of an acrylic based material, so they cracked in the oven. but i succeeded in the second one, with real glass beads. and why this lasy waited so long -for weeks? well, i just couldn't find the time or encouragement (you name it) to make her outfit. also some other stuff got in the way..

Bu oZel hanim polimer kil ve bir miktar epoksi macunu kullanilarak yapildi, akrilik boyalarla boyandi ve mat akrilik vernikle kaplandi. GoZleri icin koyu mor (siyaha yakin) cam boncuklar, saci icin de gercek yun kullanildi. Kostumu, cesitli tuller, danteller, saten kurdeleler ve kece kullanilarak yapildi. Kumaslarin bir kismi kristaller ve dilksiZ boncuklarla suslendi. Mor kadifeden yapilan korsesinde de gumus tel kirma malZemesi kullanildi.

Ayrica, icinde tel iskelet olan bu hanim, omuZlarindan, dirseklerinden, belinden, kalcasindan, diZlerinden ve ayak bileklerinden hareket edebiliyor, kendi basina ayakta ve oturur sekilde durabiliyor.

Kendilerinin boyu 32 cm.

Tamamen el yapimi olan bu kukla, nev-i sahsina munhasir olup, bir kopyasi daha yapilmayacaktir.

"She's just dark as night and forgiving as the dark.

This exquisite lady is made of polymer clays and a bit of epoxy putty (completely hand-sculpted without any help of molds), painted with acrylics and coated with matte acrylic varnish. Dark purple (almost black) glass beads were used for her eyes and mohair for the hair.
Vintage and new tulles, laces, silk ribbons and some felt were used for her many-layered costume. Some crystal-like beads and micro beads were applied to some of the fabrics. She has a dark purple corduroy corset with silver cording.

Also, she has a wire construction inside which makes her completely pose-able. She is bendable from her shoulders, elbows, waist, hips, knees and ankles.

She measures 12 1/2" (32 cm) tall and she can sit and stand on her own.

She's completely handmade and a true OOAK (one of a kind) which will not be reproduced again.

stop-motion kukla siparisi / custom order for a stop-motion puppet

efenim, stop-motion testlerinde kullanilmak uZere yapmis oldugum basit ve temel bir kukla kendileri. ayrica ilk stop-motion kukla siparisim oldugu icin de ayrica oZel bir oneme sahip.
istenen, sadece animasyon testlerini yapabilmek ve biraZ da deneyim kaZanmak amaciyla kullanilmak uZere, cok detayi olmayan basit bir kuklaydi.

this one is a basic puppet i've made upon a custom order to be used in stop-motion tests. and since it's my first stop-motion puppet for a custom order, it's a bit more special than others.
the aim of the order was to have a simple yet appropriate puppet to be able to gain some experience on working with puppets and do some animation tests.

kukla bittikten sonra ben de uygunlugunu ve hareket kapasitesini test etmek ve sahibine gostermek maksadiyla iki test cektim. iki cift goZkapagina (acik ve kapali) ve 3 farkli agiZa (kapali, acik, gulumseyen) sahip olan bu kuklacigin goZleri de disardan bir igne yardimiya hareket ettirilebiliyor. testlerin ilkinde goZkapaklari ve agiZlari da denedim. ikincisinde ise daha cok beden animasyonuna yogunlasip ekstralarini hic kullanmadim.
dedigim gibi, cok basit, sadece nasil hareket edebildigini vs. gormek icin yapmis oldugum icin bilgisayarin kamerasini kullanarak cektigim cok temel iki test oldu bunlar. o yuZden isik degisimleri ve oZellikle ilk testteki arka plan oynamasini maZur gorun..

after the puppet was ready, i shot two animation tests to be sure that the puppet was suitable for animating. he has two pairs of eyelids (one pair of closed, and one pair of open) and three different mouths (closed, open, smiling). and his eyeballs can be controlled with a pin, from outside (obviously). i used those features in the first test. and in the second one, i focused on the general body animation so i didn't use any of the mouths or eyelids whatsoever.
as i said before, these were the tests i've done just to see how he moves, etc. with my computer's in-built webcam. so, please excuse the flickering (caused by the light changes) and especially the moving background in the first one.

Pembe Cicek Perisi / Pink Flower Fairy

cikolata kutulari icin pecetelerle hasir nesir oldugum ara, yarimlik bir isik filtresine bir kelebek yapistirmistim. ama daha Ziyade grafik ogelerle beZeli, pembeli morlu filan bir seydi. sanirim sadece bir cift kelebek kanadi olarak bahsetmek daha dogru olacak kendisinden.. neyse. sonra buraya gelip haftalar sonra malZemelerime kavusunca hadi bi de cocuk peri yapayim dedim. planlar hep o kanatlari kullanmak uZerine tabii. gunleer gunler sonunda kukla tamamlanip da kostum asamasina geldiginde isler birden degisti. neden ya da nasil oldu tam bilemiyorum ama pembe-beyaZ ciZgili ve uclari dantelli taytin uZerine yaptigim tul etekten sonra her sey kontrolumden cikti. annemin diger boyalar vs. ile birlikte iZmir'deki evden getirdigi yapma cicek kutusu ilisti goZume, sonra da alt katta duran yapma cicek vaZosu.. ve birden bire bir yanda kanatlar bir yanda da bu minik cicek perisi ile karsilikli bakisirken buldum kendimi..

while i was working on those chocolate boxes of mine, i once glued a butterfly figure on a half light filter. that butterfly was actually a graphic one, just a pair of wings, let's say. and after i came here and received my supplies weeks later, i decided to make a child fairy using those wings. i started working on that, days and days passed and finally when it was time for costuming, everything changed radically. i mean, i was still planning on using those wings when i made her striped tights and the tulle skirt on the tights. but just after that, i saw a box of fake flowers which my mother had brought from iZmir with other old supplies of mine, like paints and stuff. and just after that, the fake flower vase downstairs catched my gaZe.. and then things just got out of my hands and finally i found myself looking at the unused wings on one side and the little flower fairy on the other side..teknik oZellikler icin yine dukkan bilgilerinden yararlanacagim;

"This little pixie-like flower fairy just loves outdoors and every kind of plant. She'll also love your garden, pot plants or even a window side for sure.

She's made of polymer clay and a bit of epoxy putty, painted with acrylics and coated with acrylic varnish. She has a wire construction inside which makes her completely pose-able (except for her neck and wrists). Her hair is made of mohair. Recycled fabrics, lace, trims and some fabric-based flowers were used for her costume, and it's very detailed (and layered).
She can both sit and stand on her own.

She stands 10 1/4" (26 cm) tall.

Kukla Atolyesi

evet, kesinlikle bu atolyeyi yapmaya karar vermis bulnuyorum. tarih meselesini de soyle dusundum, ya 2-3-4 agustos ya da 11-12-13 agustos'ta bir calisma, bir de agustosun son haftasinda 3 gunluk bir baska calisma olarak. katilima bagli tabi iki calisma meselesi, ikisi birbirinin devami niteliginde olmayacak ama, dileyen ilk calismadan sonra ikincine de katilabilir tabii..

detaylara gelince,
3 gunluk, gunde 7 saat surecek yogun bir program var ilk etapta kafamda (aksi istenmedigi surece).
isteyen, gerekli teknik bilgileri ogrenerek kendi tasarimi olan bir karakter uZerine calisabilecek ve atolye sonunda tamamen kendi tasarima ve kendine ait bir kuklasi olacak. isteyenin de karakterini birlikte tasarlayacagiZ sifirdan, ve o da yine atolye sonunda kendi tasarimi olan kendine ait bir kuklaya sahip olacak. isteyene de tasarim konusunda ben sahsen yardimci olacagim. yine butun bunlar katilimcilara bagli olan seyler ama bu uc opsiyon da ayni anda gerceklesebilir.
diger yandan, atolyeyi oZdere'deki yaZligimiZda yapmayi planliyorum. bu belki bir deZavantaj olabilir (yol vs.) ama atolye calismasindan sonra deniZe girme/guneslenme olanagi da mvcut tabii ayni Zamanda :)
ayni Zamanda, tum gerekli malZemeler benim tarafimdan saglanacak. tabii isteyen kostum icin kendi istedigi oZel bir detayi (dantel vs gibi) kendisi de getirebilir. ama Zaten kostum asamasi ucuncu gun olacagi icin, arada da konusacagiZ, birlikte karar verebilecegiZ.

bu plan dahilinde, gunluk 42 tl'lik bir ucret var kafamda.

bu sekilde. tarih konusunda da yine soyle, agustos icinde cogunlukla bosum. lakin 5-6-7 agustos'ta iZmir'de (oZdere degil yani), 10'unda da ankara'da olmam gerekiyor. ha bir de foca festivali'ne katilmayi planliyorum 14-15-16 agustos'ta. bunlar disinda, hemen her tarih uygun gorunuyor. (haftasonlarini da haric tutabilirsek sahane olur benim icin)
en basta vermis oldugum tarihler siZe uymuyorsa ve bu bahsettigim gunleri disarda birakacak baska bir 3 gunluk tarih isteginiZ olursa, ona da acigim. ayrica 3 gun pes pese olmasi da sart degil tabii. nasil istenirse..
ve fakat, 2-3-4 agustos'a hiZla yaklasmakta oldugumuZdan kelli bir an once haber verebilirseniZ sevinirim.

dusundum de, haZir iZmir'deyken bir sure daha, sayet ilgilenen olursa bir kukla atolyesi yapayim diyorum. yogun tempolu olarak 1 veya 2 gunluk de olabilir, daha sakin, 1 haftaya yayilmis bir sey de olabilir.. ilgiye ve talebe bagli tamamen.. iZmir civarinda olanlar ve ilgilenenler bana haber verebilirse sahane olur..

i'm thinking about making a puppet workshop, while i'm still around in turkey.. just saying.
